OBA Education Foundation & Pacific Coast Banking School Seek Applicants for 2018 ‘Rise Above the Rest’ Scholarship Pacific Coast Banking School (PCBS) and the OBA Education Foundation (Foundation), have partnered to promote advanced education for high-potential employees in the financial services industry. The two organizations are offering a joint scholarship for a first-year student from an Oregon Bankers Association (OBA) member bank to attend PCBS. Scholarship applicants must work in Oregon for an OBA member bank. To access additional information about the scholarship, including application materials, click here. The deadline for submitting scholarship applications to the OBA Education Foundation is April 30, 2018. Nominees must also submit a PCBS application. Qualifying applications will be forwarded to the Scholarship Review Committee, and nominees will be informed of the Committee’s decision by May 15, 2018. PCBS offers career-changing graduate-level financial and risk management education, hand-in-hand with strong leadership training. Participants attend an intensive two-week resident session each August for three consecutive summers. Between sessions, students complete a series of written extension assignments based on the required core classes taken in the preceding session. The 2018 session dates for Pacific Coast Banking School are August 19 - August 31. Tuition before the scholarship is applied is $5,190, which includes a non-refundable registration fee of $295, single room accommodations, meals, classes, and administrative and faculty support for intersession work. The scholarship amount is $1,500 and is applicable to each year of PCBS tuition for all three years. After the scholarship is applied, the remaining tuition balance is the responsibility of the applicant or his/her bank. Now in its 80th year, Pacific Coast Banking School has offered a premier graduate-level leadership and financial management education program focused on the financial services industry. Over 11,000 bankers have graduated from this school, with hundreds currently in key leadership roles across the country.
